Houston and Galveston

I decided to finally take the kids down to the coast for a few days. We stopped in Houston on our way down and toured NASA. They all loved it and keep asking when we can go back. We then went to Galveston. We spent the whole next day on the beach where we all got a little sunburned! We discovered all the jellyfish after Whitney asked if it was normal to have the water suddenly sting your legs. I then pointed out all the jellyfish. All of us were stung except for Maddie who was totally content playing in the sand! The next day we shopped on the Strand and did a boat ride to see the dolphins. It was finally time to go. We were sad to leave so soon, but now we know all the things we want to do when we go back. We then made our way to Battleship Park and toured the Battleship Texas. Brandon really enjoyed seeing that. It is the only ship left that was used in both World Wars. We learned so much, and feel so grateful to all those that lived and fought in horrid conditions so that we could have our liberties today! It was so amazingly hot while we were there! I am sure that the men that actually lived on that ship experienced even hotter conditions. Audrey and Whitney ended up getting sick on the way home from all the heat. If you ever want to see the Battleship, don't go in August unless you want to experience what the men may have experienced in southeast Asia!!!

Pool Time

We love swimming in our own backyard! We love having friends and family over for fun in the sun. Some of our best times are when we can just be together playing around and the pool sure helps us beat the heat

Scout Camp

Brandon enjoyed his first scout camp. They were gone for six days in the heat of July. Brandon loved shooting! In fact, he won the award for the most accurate shooting of the camp. He was thrilled! He also loved having no girls around for a few days!

Girls' camp!

Whitney had a fantastic time at Girls' camp this year! They went up to Oklahoma. It was hot, sticky, and fun! I think the best part for her was being with all her best friends!
